Portuguese Cheese Crowned Best in the World

Portuguese Cheese Crowned Best in the World.

The sheep’s milk cheese with a buttery texture, produced at Queijaria Quinta do Pomar in the village of Soalheira (freguesia de Soalheira, concelho do Fundão), was named the Best Cheese in the World at the prestigious World Cheese Awards 2024.

Among 4,800 cheeses from 47 countries, our creamy masterpiece captured the hearts and palates of 240 international judges.

The final of the competition took place in Viseu – a city that, for one day, became the world’s cheese capital.

As noted by the director of the Guild of Fine Food, John Farrand:
“Portuguese cheesemakers made their country proud.”

Parabéns, Quinta do Pomar!
Parabéns, Portugal!💖
